Hair colour is chemistry operating on a biological substrate that varies between every client and every strand. At Mintbterra, our colourists approach each appointment as a structured technical process: a strand test is conducted where the result is ambiguous; sectioning maps are drawn to ensure consistent saturation; timing is tracked per section rather than estimated globally. We work with professional-grade lines and mix formulas to the gram — not to the eye. For colour corrections, we photograph the hair under consistent studio lighting before and after each session, building a documented record that informs every subsequent visit. This precision is especially relevant in Montréal's climate, where hard water and seasonal temperature shifts affect how colour oxidises and fades.

Editorial & Vivid Colour
Fantasy and fashion-toned applications for clients with pre-lightened hair. We discuss fade trajectory and home-care maintenance required to sustain vivid tones before booking.
Realistic timelines and honest limits
Colour results depend on starting points we do not always control — previous chemical history, water quality, and individual hair porosity all affect outcomes. We do not promise a target shade in a single session if achieving it safely requires more than one. Colour corrections can take two to four appointments spaced four to six weeks apart; we will tell you this clearly before the first session begins. Walk-in colour appointments are not available at Mintbterra. All colour clients book a consultation call or in-studio assessment first, particularly for corrections or vivid colour. This step is not optional — it protects both the result and the integrity of your hair.
